“Camera Obscura – out of the box!” is a brand-new event format initiated by Matthias Weissengruber, the chairman of Vorarlberg’s professional photography community. This innovative series offers a unique opportunity for creative professionals to visit Vorarlberg-based photographers in their studios or other creative spaces, gaining firsthand insight into their work, techniques, and artistic philosophy.
The event kicks off with photographers Florian Strigel and Milad Safabakhsh, who are based at the Co-Working Studio Weiherstraße in Bregenz.
Florian Strigel, a product and sports photographer, will showcase his workflow as a product photographer and present one of his latest outdoor videos, offering a behind-the-scenes look at his creative and technical process.
Milad Safabakhsh, photographer and founder of the Minimalist Photography Awards, will talk about minimalist photography and how the competition has grown into a globally recognized platform for artists who embrace simplicity and the power of visual storytelling. Established to celebrate the beauty of minimalism in photography, the Minimalist Photography Awards attracts thousands of submissions from photographers worldwide, highlighting the profound impact of less-is-more aesthetics. Safabakhsh will share insights into the selection process, trends in minimalist photography, and how the competition continues to shape the contemporary photography landscape.
